Prof. dr. sc. Luka Čičin Šain, virusni imunolog u Centru za infektološka istraživanja u Braunschweigu, rekao je večeras u središnjem HTV-ovom Dnevniku kako je pad broja novih slučajeva COVID-a u Hrvatskoj djelomično prividan i povezan s time što se testira manje ljudi.

Također je pozvao ljude da prime takozvanu booster dozu cjepiva kako bi se bolje zaštitili protiv varijante omikron.

Čičin Šain je rekao kako istraživanja u njegovom i laboratorijima njegovih kolega upućuju na to da je omikron varijanta koja vrlo efikasno izbjegava imunološko prepoznavanje.

- Kada uzgajamo virus u prisustvu seruma osoba koje su cijepljene različitim cjepivima koja su dostupna na hrvatskom tržištu, vidimo da, u osnovi, osobe koje su dva puta cijepljene, bilo AstraZenecom ili Pfizerom, nemaju kvalitetan odgovor.

Velik broj ljudi nema nikakva protutijela protiv omikrona.

Vidimo da je nešto bolja situacija kod Moderne, ali najgora je kod osoba koje su dobile Johnson&Johnson, kod njih vidimo da je imuni odgovor vrlo, vrlo slab, praktično nikakav, tako je za očekivati da će doći do probojnih infekcija i kod osoba koje su dva puta cijepljene, rekao je Čičin Šain.

Tri susreta s antigenom

Dodao je kako je situacija nešto bolja kod osoba koje su se tri puta srele s antigenom - ili tako da su se inficirali pa su dobili dvije doze cjepiva, ili tako da su dobili dvije doze i booster dozu.

- Kod njih je isto titar protutijela koji kontrolira virus niži nego protiv prijašnjih varijanti, ali u pravilu kod ogromne većine osoba koje su testirane postoji nekakav zaštitni titar, čak i protiv omikrona.

Dakle, tri doze cjepiva ili jedna infekcija i dvije doze cjepiva prave razliku u odnosu na samo dvije doze cjepiva ili jednu infekciju i jedno cjepivo.

Dakle, savjet je svakome tko još nije dobio treću booster dozu, a može je dobiti, da potraži mjesto gdje je može dobiti jer to daje bolje šanse protiv omikrona, rekao je Čičin Šain.

Duboko u četvrtom valu

Čičin Šain je rekao i kako je za očekivati da će se omikron eksponencijalno širiti i kod nas kad jednom dođe. Međutim, naglasio je da se Hrvatska još uvijek nalazi duboko u četvrtom valu.

- Te brojke koje vidimo da su nešto pale su u dobroj mjeri odraz toga da se manje testira. Pred nekoliko tjedana testiralo se 15.000, sad se testira oko 10.000 ljudi dnevno.

Taj pad u broju novih slučajeva je djelomično prividan i mi se i dalje, bez obzira na omikron, trebamo truditi da se poštuju epidemiološke mjere i da osobe koje se mogu cijepiti doista dobiju to cjepivo, jer bolje se cijepiti nego zaraziti, rekao je Čičin Šain.

Virus neće sam od sebe nestati

Upitan može li doći do spajanja valova, Čičin Šain rekao je kako sve ukazuje na to da nećemo ni izaći iz četvrtog vala i da ćemo već uletjeti u peti, ako se trendovi nastave.

- Jako bih volio da sam tu u krivu i da će se nešto promijeniti u ponašanju ljudi i da će se pandemija moći bolje iskontrolirati, rekao je Čičin Šain.

Naglasio je i kako virus neće sam od sebe nestati - on nestaje samo ako smo svi imuni ili onda kad se ljudi ponašaju tako da izbjegavaju kontakte s drugim ljudima.

Osvrnuo se i na tvrdnje da je omikron nešto manje infektivan, odnosno manje virulentan, da manje ljudi od njega podliježe bolesti, rekavši da je, kao prvo, prerano da bi se o tome govorilo.

- Kao drugo, čak i da je virus upola manje virulentan, upola manje opasa za jednog pojedinca - ako ga ima deset puta više, na kraju će pet puta više ljudi još uvijek trebati u bolnicu i završit će na respiratoru, upozorio je Čičin Šain.

Prof. dr. sc. Luka Čičin Šain, virusni imunolog u Centru za infektološka istraživanja u Braunschweigu, rekao je večeras u središnjem HTV-ovom Dnevniku kako je pad broja novih slučajeva COVID-a u Hrvatskoj djelomično prividan i povezan s time što se testira manje ljudi.

Također je pozvao ljude da prime takozvanu booster dozu cjepiva kako bi se bolje zaštitili protiv varijante omikron.

Čičin Šain je rekao kako istraživanja u njegovom i laboratorijima njegovih kolega upućuju na to da je omikron varijanta koja vrlo efikasno izbjegava imunološko prepoznavanje.

- Kada uzgajamo virus u prisustvu seruma osoba koje su cijepljene različitim cjepivima koja su dostupna na hrvatskom tržištu, vidimo da, u osnovi, osobe koje su dva puta cijepljene, bilo AstraZenecom ili Pfizerom, nemaju kvalitetan odgovor.

Velik broj ljudi nema nikakva protutijela protiv omikrona.

Vidimo da je nešto bolja situacija kod Moderne, ali najgora je kod osoba koje su dobile Johnson&Johnson, kod njih vidimo da je imuni odgovor vrlo, vrlo slab, praktično nikakav, tako je za očekivati da će doći do probojnih infekcija i kod osoba koje su dva puta cijepljene, rekao je Čičin Šain.

Dodao je kako je situacija nešto bolja kod osoba koje su se tri puta srele s antigenom - ili tako da su se inficirali pa su dobili dvije doze cjepiva, ili tako da su dobili dvije doze i booster dozu.

- Kod njih je isto titar protutijela koji kontrolira virus niži nego protiv prijašnjih varijanti, ali u pravilu kod ogromne većine osoba koje su testirane postoji nekakav zaštitni titar, čak i protiv omikrona.

Dakle, tri doze cjepiva ili jedna infekcija i dvije doze cjepiva prave razliku u odnosu na samo dvije doze cjepiva ili jednu infekciju i jedno cjepivo.

Dakle, savjet je svakome tko još nije dobio treću booster dozu, a može je dobiti, da potraži mjesto gdje je može dobiti jer to daje bolje šanse protiv omikrona, rekao je Čičin Šain.

Duboko u četvrtom valu

Čičin Šain je rekao i kako je za očekivati da će se omikron eksponencijalno širiti i kod nas kad jednom dođe. Međutim, naglasio je da se Hrvatska još uvijek nalazi duboko u četvrtom valu.

- Te brojke koje vidimo da su nešto pale su u dobroj mjeri odraz toga da se manje testira. Pred nekoliko tjedana testiralo se 15.000, sad se testira oko 10.000 ljudi dnevno.

Taj pad u broju novih slučajeva je djelomično prividan i mi se i dalje, bez obzira na omikron, trebamo truditi da se poštuju epidemiološke mjere i da osobe koje se mogu cijepiti doista dobiju to cjepivo, jer bolje se cijepiti nego zaraziti, rekao je Čičin Šain.

Virus neće sam od sebe nestati

Upitan može li doći do spajanja valova, Čičin Šain rekao je kako sve ukazuje na to da nećemo ni izaći iz četvrtog vala i da ćemo već uletjeti u peti, ako se trendovi nastave.

- Jako bih volio da sam tu u krivu i da će se nešto promijeniti u ponašanju ljudi i da će se pandemija moći bolje iskontrolirati, rekao je Čičin Šain.

Naglasio je i kako virus neće sam od sebe nestati - on nestaje samo ako smo svi imuni ili onda kad se ljudi ponašaju tako da izbjegavaju kontakte s drugim ljudima.

Osvrnuo se i na tvrdnje da je omikron nešto manje infektivan, odnosno manje virulentan, da manje ljudi od njega podliježe bolesti, rekavši da je, kao prvo, prerano da bi se o tome govorilo.

- Kao drugo, čak i da je virus upola manje virulentan, upola manje opasa za jednog pojedinca - ako ga ima deset puta više, na kraju će pet puta više ljudi još uvijek trebati u bolnicu i završit će na respiratoru, upozorio je Čičin Šain.

Prof. dr. sc. Luka Čičin Šain, virusni imunolog u Centru za infektološka istraživanja u Braunschweigu, rekao je večeras u središnjem HTV-ovom Dnevniku kako je pad broja novih slučajeva COVID-a u Hrvatskoj djelomično prividan i povezan s time što se testira manje ljudi.

Također je pozvao ljude da prime takozvanu booster dozu cjepiva kako bi se bolje zaštitili protiv varijante omikron.

Čičin Šain je rekao kako istraživanja u njegovom i laboratorijima njegovih kolega upućuju na to da je omikron varijanta koja vrlo efikasno izbjegava imunološko prepoznavanje.

- Kada uzgajamo virus u prisustvu seruma osoba koje su cijepljene različitim cjepivima koja su dostupna na hrvatskom tržištu, vidimo da, u osnovi, osobe koje su dva puta cijepljene, bilo AstraZenecom ili Pfizerom, nemaj...
