Muška nada u izboru za Sportsko ime Dalmacije je Mili Poljičak (Teniski klub Pomak, Split). Bila je to rečenica s početka 2019. godine kada smo proglašavali laureate za ostvarenja iz 2018. godine.

Najbolji sportaš bio je naš teniski as Mate Pavić, dok je Mili Poljičak proglašen najvećom nadom dalmatinskog sporta. Talentirani splitski tenisač prvi je bio na europskoj rang listi do 14 godina nakon što je na Europskom prvenstvu s Dinom Prižmićem osvojio parove, a u singlu izgubio u finalu. U pojedinačnoj je konkurenciji osvojio Kijev i igrao još dva finala, a u parovima je skupio još tri titule. Dobio je tada nagradu “Dražen Petrović” Hrvatskog olimpijskog odbora za najveću nadu hrvatskog sporta.

Dobro smo tada “topali”, jer Poljičak je nastavio pravim tempom razvijati se u tenisača - profesionalca. Na ovogodišnji je juniorski Australian Open došao kao drugi nositelj, 24. siječnja bio je drugi na svjetskog rang listi juniora. Početkom godine osvojio je juniorski turnir prvog ranga u Traralgonu, krajem prošle turnir A ranga u meksičkoj Meridi... Shvatili ste, Poljičak je nastavio iskorištavati svoj potencijal i napredovati, očekujemo uskoro i da zagrabi prema seniorskom svjetskom vrhu.

Da ga nismo proglasili tada, Poljičak bi s obzirom na rezultate i ovog puta bio u najužem krugu favorita, ali titula nada Dalmacije dijeli se jednom. No, tenis je u Splitu nepresušno vrelo talenata, pa bi tako Duje Markovina mogao postati Milijev nasljednik. 

Žestoka kunkurencija

Konkurencija među nadama mu je žestoka, ozbiljna, ali Markovina ima svoje adute. I on je, baš kao i Poljičak tada, dobio nagradu Hrvatskog olimpijskog odbora “Dražen Petrović” za najveću nadu hrvatskog sporta, u Hrvatskoj je u svome uzrastu nedodirljiv, dok i s dvije godine starijima od sebe osvaja medalje na državnim prvenstvima. U Europi je u vrhu, igra ravnopravno protiv najboljih među kojima je i njemu mjesto.

Krenuli smo od teniskih nada, no 2021. godina “bijelog sporta” za čitavu Hrvatsku, a i za Dalmaciju, bila je fantastična. Vrhunac se dogodio u Tokiju, kada smo u finalu Olimpijskih igara bili sigurni da Hrvatska osvaja zlato. S jedne su strane stajali Mate Pavić i Nikola Mektić, a s druge veterani Marin Čilić i Ivan Dodig. Potvrdili su Pavić i Mektić da su najbolji svjetski par te su savladali starije kolege. Imali su još dva vrhunca, jedan se dogodio prije Tokiju kada su osvojili Wimbledon, a drugi na koncu sezone kada su se plasirali u finale Davis Cupa.

E, u tom Davis Cupu zablistao je i Borna Gojo, još jedan splitski as. Na krilima fantastičnog Borne uz očekivanu podršku Pavića i Mektića Hrvatska je dogurala do velikog finala u kojemu je ipak bolja bila Rusija.

Budno oko Vedrana Martića

Sve se to, i Olimpijske igre i Davis Cup, odvijalo pod budnim okom izbornik hrvatske teniske reprezentacije Vedrana Martića, također Splićanina.

Tenis ima dugu tradiciju u gradu, ali i u našem izboru. Da ne idemo u davnu povijest, sjetimo se recimo Gorana Ivaniševića koji je bio najbolji za 2001. godinu i Marija Ančića za 2006. Zanimljivo, ne i iznenađujuće, dvojici tenisača oba je puta “društvo” činila skakačica uvis Blanka Vlašić, koja je u konkurenciji sportašica tih godina dominirala našim izborom.

U odlična ostvarenja dalmatinskih asova valja spomenuti i da su na juniorskom Australian Openu igrali i Dino Prižmić te Luka Mikrut u muškoj, a Dubrovkinja Lucija Čirić-Bagarić u ženskoj konkurenciji. Bilo je tu još reprezentativaca, osvajača medalja na državnim prvenstvima iz Dalmacije, ali polako, treba još malo pure pojesti...

Muška nada u izboru za Sportsko ime Dalmacije je Mili Poljičak (Teniski klub Pomak, Split). Bila je to rečenica s početka 2019. godine kada smo proglašavali laureate za ostvarenja iz 2018. godine.

Najbolji sportaš bio je naš teniski as Mate Pavić, dok je Mili Poljičak proglašen najvećom nadom dalmatinskog sporta. Talentirani splitski tenisač prvi je bio na europskoj rang listi do 14 godina nakon što je na Europskom prvenstvu s Dinom Prižmićem osvojio parove, a u singlu izgubio u finalu. U pojedinačnoj je konkurenciji osvojio Kijev i igrao još dva finala, a u parovima je skupio još tri titule. Dobio je tada nagradu “Dražen Petrović” Hrvatskog olimpijskog odbora za najveću nadu hrvatskog sporta.

Dobro smo tada “topali”, jer Poljičak je nastavio pravim tempom razvijati se u tenisača - profesionalca. Na ovogodišnji je juniorski Australian Open došao kao drugi nositelj, 24. siječnja bio je drugi na svjetskog rang listi juniora. Početkom godine osvojio je juniorski turnir prvog ranga u Traralgonu, krajem prošle turnir A ranga u meksičkoj Meridi... Shvatili ste, Poljičak je nastavio iskorištavati svoj potencijal i napredovati, očekujemo uskoro i da zagrabi prema seniorskom svjetskom vrhu.

Da ga nismo proglasili tada, Poljičak bi s obzirom na rezultate i ovog puta bio u najužem krugu favorita, ali titula nada Dalmacije dijeli se jednom. No, tenis je u Splitu nepresušno vrelo talenata, pa bi tako Duje Markovina mogao postati Milijev nasljednik. 

Žestoka kunkurencija

Konkurencija među nadama mu je žestoka, ozbiljna, ali Markovina ima svoje adute. I on je, baš kao i Poljičak tada, dobio nagradu Hrvatskog olimpijskog odbora “Dražen Petrović” za najveću nadu hrvatskog sporta, u Hrvatskoj je u svome uzrastu nedodirljiv, dok i s dvije godine starijima od sebe osvaja medalje na državnim prvenstvima. U Europi je u vrhu, igra ravnopravno protiv najboljih među kojima je i njemu mjesto.

Krenuli smo od teniskih nada, no 2021. godina “bijelog sporta” za čitavu Hrvatsku, a i za Dalmaciju, bila je fantastična. Vrhunac se dogodio u Tokiju, kada smo u finalu Olimpijskih igara bili sigurni da Hrvatska osvaja zlato. S jedne su strane stajali Mate Pavić i Nikola Mektić, a s druge veterani Marin Čilić i Ivan Dodig. Potvrdili su Pavić i Mektić da su najbolji svjetski par te su savladali starije kolege. Imali su još dva vrhunca, jedan se dogodio prije Tokiju kada su osvojili Wimbledon, a drugi na koncu sezone kada su se plasirali u finale Davis Cupa.

E, u tom Davis Cupu zablistao je i Borna Gojo, još jedan splitski as. Na krilima fantastičnog Borne uz očekivanu podršku Pavića i Mektića Hrvatska je dogurala do velikog finala u kojemu je ipak bolja bila Rusija.

Budno oko Vedrana Martića

Sve se to, i Olimpijske igre i Davis Cup, odvijalo pod budnim okom izbornik hrvatske teniske reprezentacije Vedrana Martića, također Splićanina.

Tenis ima dugu tradiciju u gradu, ali i u našem izboru. Da ne idemo u davnu povijest, sjetimo se recimo Gorana Ivaniševića koji je bio najbolji za 2001. godinu i Marija Ančića za 2006. Zanimljivo, ne i iznenađujuće, dvojici tenisača oba je puta “društvo” činila skakačica uvis Blanka Vlašić, koja je u konkurenciji sportašica tih godina dominirala našim izborom.

U odlična ostvarenja dalmatinskih asova valja spomenuti i da su na juniorskom Australian Openu igrali i Dino Prižmić te Luka Mikrut u muškoj, a Dubrovkinja Lucija Čirić-Bagarić u ženskoj konkurenciji. Bilo je tu još reprezentativaca, osvajača medalja na državnim prvenstvima iz Dalmacije, ali polako, treba još malo pure pojesti...

‘Sportsko ime Dalmacije‘: Split i Dalmacija puni tenisa, priča koja traje i traje

Muška nada u izboru za Sportsko ime Dalmacije je Mili Poljičak (Teniski klub Pomak, Split). Bila je to rečenica s početka 2019. godine kada smo proglašavali laureate za ostvarenja iz 2018. godine.

Najbolji sportaš bio je naš teniski as Mate Pavić, dok je Mili Poljičak proglašen najvećom nadom dalmatinskog sporta. Talentirani splitski tenisač prvi je bio na europskoj rang listi do 14 godina nakon što je na Europskom prvenstvu s Dinom Prižmićem osvojio parove, a u singlu izgubio u finalu. U pojedinačnoj je konkurenciji osvojio Kijev i igrao još dva finala, a u parovima je skupio još tri titule. Dobio je tada nagradu “Dražen Petrović” Hrvatskog olimpijskog odbora za najveću nadu hrvatskog sporta.

Dobro smo tada “topali”, jer Poljičak je nastavio pravim tempom razvija...
