Venecija je u četvrtak postala prvi grad u svijetu koji je uveo sustav plaćanja ulaska za turiste, u nastojanju da smanji gužve koje guše grad na kanalima tijekom vrhunca sezone praznika.

Svaki posjetitelj koji ne ostaje noćiti u gradu mora danas, 25. travnja, na talijanski državni praznik, online kupiti ulaznicu koja stoji 5 eura prije nego što uđe u grad u laguni. To je prvi od ukupno 29 dana ove godine kada će se posjetiteljima naplaćivati ulaz.

Iako na gradskim ulazima nema barijera kojima bi se osiguralo da svi ljudi imaju propusnicu, inspektori će obavljati nasumične provjere i izricati kazne između 50 i 300 eura svima koji se nisu registrirali.

"Nitko dosad nije uveo ovakav sustav", rekao je gradonačelnik Venecije Luigi Brugnaro novinarima ranije ovog mjeseca. "Ne zatvaramo grad... samo ga pokušavamo učiniti pogodnim za život."

Oko 20 milijuna ljudi posjetilo je Veneciju prošle godine, rekao je Brugnaro, a otprilike polovica njih prespavala je u hotelima ili apartmanima. U gradu trenutno živi oko 49 tisuća ljudi.

Venecija je prošle godine za dlaku izbjegla stavljanje na UNESCO-ov popis ugrožene svjetske baštine, djelomično zato što je to tijelo UN-a zaključilo da se gradske vlasti ozbiljno bave problemom masovnog turizma. Osim naplate ulaska, grad je zabranio uplovljavanje velikim kruzerima u venecijansku lagunu te je najavio nova ograničenja u veličini turističkih grupa.

"Fenomen masovnog turizma predstavlja izazov za sve europske turističke gradove", rekao je gradski dužnosnik zadužen za turizam Simone Venturini. "No budući da je Venecija manja i osjetljivija, još je pogođenija ovim fenomenom i stoga je prisiljena poduzeti mjere prije drugih kako bi pokušala pronaći rješenje", dodao je,

Prodavanje ulaznica ove je godine u eksperimentalnoj fazi, a Venturini je rekao da bi u budućnosti Venecija mogla početi naplaćivati više u određeno doba godine kako bi obeshrabrila dolaske turista.

Venecija je u četvrtak postala prvi grad u svijetu koji je uveo sustav plaćanja ulaska za turiste, u nastojanju da smanji gužve koje guše grad na kanalima tijekom vrhunca sezone praznika.

Svaki posjetitelj koji ne ostaje noćiti u gradu mora danas, 25. travnja, na talijanski državni praznik, online kupiti ulaznicu koja stoji 5 eura prije nego što uđe u grad u laguni. To je prvi od ukupno 29 dana ove godine kada će se posjetiteljima naplaćivati ulaz.

"Nitko dosad nije uveo ovakav sustav", rekao je gradonačelnik Venecije Luigi Brugnaro novinarima ranije ovog mjeseca. "Ne zatvaramo grad... samo ga pokušavamo učiniti pogodnim za život."

Oko 20 milijuna ljudi posjetilo je Veneciju prošle godine, rekao je Brugnaro, a otprilike polovica njih prespavala je u hotelima ili apartmanima. U gradu trenutno živi oko 49 tisuća ljudi.

Venecija je prošle godine za dlaku izbjegla stavljanje na UNESCO-ov popis ugrožene svjetske baštine, djelomično zato što je to tijelo UN-a zaključilo da se gradske vlasti ozbiljno bave problemom masovnog turizma. Osim naplate ulaska, grad je zabranio uplovljavanje velikim kruzerima u venecijansku lagunu te je najavio nova ograničenja u veličini turističkih grupa.

"Fenomen masovnog turizma predstavlja izazov za sve europske turističke gradove", rekao je gradski dužnosnik zadužen za turizam Simone Venturini. "No budući da je Venecija manja i osjetljivija, još je pogođenija ovim fenomenom i stoga je prisiljena poduzeti mjere prije drugih kako bi pokušala pronaći rješenje", dodao je,

Prodavanje ulaznica ove je godine u eksperimentalnoj fazi, a Venturini je rekao da bi u budućnosti Venecija mogla početi naplaćivati više u određeno doba godine kako bi obeshrabrila dolaske turista.

Venecija je u četvrtak postala prvi grad u svijetu koji je uveo sustav plaćanja ulaska za turiste, u nastojanju da smanji gužve koje guše grad na kanalima tijekom vrhunca sezone praznika.

Svaki posjetitelj koji ne ostaje noćiti u gradu mora danas, 25. travnja, na talijanski državni praznik, online kupiti ulaznicu koja stoji 5 eura prije nego što uđe u grad u laguni. To je prvi od ukupno 29 dana ove godine kada će se posjetiteljima naplaćivati ulaz.
