Šibenčanin Ivica Poljičak na svojoj Facebook stranici "Šibenik na kvadrat" podsjetio nas je na brodolom parobroda Galateje na mulu Krke u Krešimirovu gradu davne 1908. godine. Njegovu priču prenosimo u cijelosti:

"Utorak, tri sata popodne, 14. travnja 1908. godine, bio je koban za Lloydov parobrod Galateju. Na očigled mnoštva Šibenčana koji su to promatrali s „drvene rive“, tijekom pristajanja, uz jako jugo, desnom strane prove Galatea je udarila u rub mula Krke.

Za brod star 40 godina bio je početak kraja. Parobrod se odmah počeo puniti morem. Posada, na čelu s kapetanom Martinolićem dala je sve od sebe da začepe otvor i izbace more, ali neuspješno. Oko jedanaest sati navečer, uz strašnu lomljavu Galatea je naslonila na dno uz mulo Krke. „Iz mora viri prova, desna strana broda i polovina mosta, a krma je skoro sva pod morem“.

Bio je to prvorazredni gradski događaj. Od potonuća pa do izvlačenja Galateje Šibenčani su imali predstavu na otvorenom. Majstori fotografskog zanata ovjekovječili su fotografijom posrnuli brod. Spašavanje Galateje bio je spektakl, bili su angažirani i krapanjski ronitelji da bi na kraju 17. svibnja uz pomoć čak četiri broda, Galatea otegljena.

Na fotografiji uz brojne Šibenčane na „drvenoj rivi“, lijevo se vidi rasvjetni stup sa izvornom svjetiljkom javne rasvjete na izmjeničnu električnu struju koja je u Šibeniku prvi put zasvijetlila 1895. godine" - napisao je Poljičak.

Šibenčanin Ivica Poljičak na svojoj Facebook stranici "Šibenik na kvadrat" podsjetio nas je na brodolom parobroda Galateje na mulu Krke u Krešimirovu gradu davne 1908. godine. Njegovu priču prenosimo u cijelosti:

"Utorak, tri sata popodne, 14. travnja 1908. godine, bio je koban za Lloydov parobrod Galateju. Na očigled mnoštva Šibenčana koji su to promatrali s „drvene rive“, tijekom pristajanja, uz jako jugo, desnom strane prove Galatea je udarila u rub mula Krke.

Za brod star 40 godina bio je početak kraja. Parobrod se odmah počeo puniti morem. Posada, na čelu s kapetanom Martinolićem dala je sve od sebe da začepe otvor i izbace more, ali neuspješno. Oko jedanaest sati navečer, uz strašnu lomljavu Galatea je naslonila na dno uz mulo Krke. „Iz mora viri prova, desna strana broda i polovina mosta, a krma je skoro sva pod morem“.

Bio je to prvorazredni gradski događaj. Od potonuća pa do izvlačenja Galateje Šibenčani su imali predstavu na otvorenom. Majstori fotografskog zanata ovjekovječili su fotografijom posrnuli brod. Spašavanje Galateje bio je spektakl, bili su angažirani i krapanjski ronitelji da bi na kraju 17. svibnja uz pomoć čak četiri broda, Galatea otegljena.

Na fotografiji uz brojne Šibenčane na „drvenoj rivi“, lijevo se vidi rasvjetni stup sa izvornom svjetiljkom javne rasvjete na izmjeničnu električnu struju koja je u Šibeniku prvi put zasvijetlila 1895. godine" - napisao je Poljičak.

Na današnji dan prije 115 godina Šibenčani su svjedočili havariji ‘Galateje‘, spašavanje se pretvorilo u spektakl

Šibenčanin Ivica Poljičak na svojoj Facebook stranici "Šibenik na kvadrat" podsjetio nas je na brodolom parobroda Galateje na mulu Krke u Krešimirovu gradu davne 1908. godine. Njegovu priču prenosimo u cijelosti:

"Utorak, tri sata popodne, 14. travnja 1908. godine, bio je koban za Lloydov parobrod Galateju. Na očigled mnoštva Šibenčana koji su to promatrali s „drvene rive“, tijekom pristajanja, uz jako jugo, desnom strane prove Galatea je udarila u rub mula Krke.

Za brod star 40 godina bio je početak kraja. Parobrod se odmah počeo puniti morem. Posada, na čelu s kapetanom Martinolićem dala je sve od sebe da začepe otvor i izbace more, ali neuspješno. Oko jedanaest sati navečer, uz strašnu lomljavu Galatea je naslonila na dno uz mulo Krke. „Iz mora viri prova, desna strana broda i polovina mosta, a krma je skoro sva pod morem“.

Bio je to prvorazredni gradski događaj. Od potonuća pa do izvlačenja Galateje Šibenčani su imali predstavu na otvorenom. Majstori fotografskog zanata ovjekovječili su fotografijom posrnuli brod. Spašavanje Galateje bio je spektakl, bili su angažirani i krapanjski ronitelji da bi na kraju 17. svibnja uz pomoć čak četiri broda, Galatea otegljena.

Na fotografiji uz brojne Šibenčane na „drvenoj rivi“, lijevo se vidi rasvjetni stup sa izvornom svjetiljkom javne rasvjete na izmjeničnu električnu struju koja je u Šibeniku prvi put zasvijetlila 1895. godine" - napisao je Poljičak.
