Danko Radić, bivši predsjednik Hrvatskog košarkaškog saveza, preminuo je u utorak ujutro, 13. veljače, u Zagrebu u dobi od 66 godina, nakon duge i teške bolesti.

Rođen 30. listopada 1952. godine u Podorljaku kod Šibenika, Danko Radić bivši je predsjednik Hrvatskog košarkaškog saveza, bivši košarkaški trener i sudac.

Bio je suosnivač ženskog košarkaškog kluba u Šibeniku te njegov prvi trener u republičkoj ligi sve do 1971. godine. Dvije godine kasnije postaje profesionalnim trenerom muške košarkaške ekipe Jug u Dubrovniku. 1981. postaje trener Košarkaškog kluba Revija iz Šibenika te osvaja kadetsko i juniorsko prvenstvo.

Već tada aktivno se bavi košarkaškim suđenjem. Godine 1975. dobiva poziv suditi drugu saveznu ligu, a 1978. počinje suditi prvu saveznu ligu. 1981. polaže ispit za međunarodnog suca, čime počinje njegova uspješna inozemna karijera koja je trajala od 1981. do 2005. godine. Sudio je na svim velikim međunarodnim natjecanjima, od Olimpijskih igara, Svjetskih i Europskih prvenstva, Univerzijade, sve do Mediteranskih igara. Sudačku karijeru završava 2005. godine.

Također dugi niz godina obnašao je funkciju predsjednika Udruge Hrvatskih košarkaških sudaca. Od 7. studenog 2004. do 28. lipnja 2015. bio je predsjednik HKS-a.

Danko Radić, bivši predsjednik Hrvatskog košarkaškog saveza, preminuo je u utorak ujutro, 13. veljače, u Zagrebu u dobi od 66 godina, nakon duge i teške bolesti.

Rođen 30. listopada 1952. godine u Podorljaku kod Šibenika, Danko Radić bivši je predsjednik Hrvatskog košarkaškog saveza, bivši košarkaški trener i sudac.

Bio je suosnivač ženskog košarkaškog kluba u Šibeniku te njegov prvi trener u republičkoj ligi sve do 1971. godine. Dvije godine kasnije postaje profesionalnim trenerom muške košarkaške ekipe Jug u Dubrovniku. 1981. postaje trener Košarkaškog kluba Revija iz Šibenika te osvaja kadetsko i juniorsko prvenstvo.

Već tada aktivno se bavi košarkaškim suđenjem. Godine 1975. dobiva poziv suditi drugu saveznu ligu, a 1978. počinje suditi prvu saveznu ligu. 1981. polaže ispit za međunarodnog suca, čime počinje njegova uspješna inozemna karijera koja je trajala od 1981. do 2005. godine. Sudio je na svim velikim međunarodnim natjecanjima, od Olimpijskih igara, Svjetskih i Europskih prvenstva, Univerzijade, sve do Mediteranskih igara. Sudačku karijeru završava 2005. godine.

Također dugi niz godina obnašao je funkciju predsjednika Udruge Hrvatskih košarkaških sudaca. Od 7. studenog 2004. do 28. lipnja 2015. bio je predsjednik HKS-a.
