Sveučilište u Zadru bit će domaćin Europskog sveučilišnog prvenstva u košarci 2027. godine. Tim povodom u utorak su u Rektoratu natjecanje, izazove u organizaciji i značaj događanja za Zadar i zadarsko sveučilište predstavili rektor Sveučilišta u Zadru prof. dr. sc. Josip Faričić, gradonačelnik Branko Dukić, predsjednik Hrvatskog akademskog sportskog saveza Haris Pavletić, predsjednik Sportskog akademskog saveza Sveučilišta u Zadru doc. dr. sc. Tonći Jerak, voditeljica Centra za tjelovježbu i studentski šport izv. prof. dr. sc. Gordana Ivković i direktorica Turističke zajednice Grada Zadra Iva Bencun.

- Dodjelom domaćinstva odano je priznanje cijeloj našoj ustanovi, posebice Centru za tjelovježbu i studentski šport i našim studentima. Sport je važna aktivnosti i fenomen koji bi trebao u što većoj mjeri zahvaćati studente, slijedeći antički moto Mens sana in corpore sano. Sportske aktivnosti upotpunjuju redovite nastavne i znanstvene aktivnosti naših studenata i djelatnika, koji se kroz njih se uključuju u različite modele internacionalizacije. Na taj način mogu trenirati ne samo svoje tijelo i sposobnosti, nego i nošenje s pobjedama i porazima. U košarci je važan i timski rad, što je važno i kada se ostvaruju različite znanstvene aktivnosti. Natjecanje vidimo kao dodatan iskorak u internacionalizaciji i uključivanju studenata u aktivnosti kojima će biti punopravni članovi europske akademske zajednice, istaknuo je rektor Faričić.

Gradonačelnik Dukić rekao je kako ga veseli čvrsta suradnja grada i sveučilišta, kao i da je jedna posebna ljubav prema košarci u ovom gradu zahvatila studente.

- Vjerujem da će se u našem Hramu košarke igrati vrhunska košarka, rekao je gradonačelnik.

Odluka o domaćinstvu donesena je na nedavnoj sjednici Izvršnog odbora Europske sveučilišne sportske asocijacije EUSA-e u Aveiru u Portugalu.

- Zadar je ime koje nešto znači u europskoj košarci, grad je atraktivan, priprema kandidature je bila odlična i teško ju je bilo odbiti. Sveučilište radi odlične stvari oko organizacije sportskih događaja na nacionalnoj razini, gospodin Jerak je dopredsjednik Hrvatskog akademskog sportskog saveza i znamo da će sve što organizira biti jako dobro te će sudionici otići sretni. Imamo tri godine za pripremu, ovo je platforma koju treba iskoristiti na pravi način da se studenti upoznaju s gradom i sa sobom odnesu lijepe uspomene, rekao je predsjednik HASS Haris Pavletić, dodajući kako je Zadar dobio domaćinstvo iz prve, dok se Bologna morala triput kandidirati dok nije dobila organizaciju prvenstva 2025. godine.

Kao jedan od aduta u kandidaturi Jerak je izdvojio izvrsnu sportsku infrastrukturu, odnosno Dvoranu Krešimir Ćosić u kojoj će se igrati sve utakmice. Predviđeno je sudjelovanje 32 ekipe, po 16 muških i ženskih ali s obzirom na prve reakcije moglo bi ih biti i po dvadesetak. Svečano otvaranje bit će na Forumu.

Sveučilište u Zadru bit će domaćin Europskog sveučilišnog prvenstva u košarci 2027. godine. Tim povodom u utorak su u Rektoratu natjecanje, izazove u organizaciji i značaj događanja za Zadar i zadarsko sveučilište predstavili rektor Sveučilišta u Zadru prof. dr. sc. Josip Faričić, gradonačelnik Branko Dukić, predsjednik Hrvatskog akademskog sportskog saveza Haris Pavletić, predsjednik Sportskog akademskog saveza Sveučilišta u Zadru doc. dr. sc. Tonći Jerak, voditeljica Centra za tjelovježbu i studentski šport izv. prof. dr. sc. Gordana Ivković i direktorica Turističke zajednice Grada Zadra Iva Bencun.

- Dodjelom domaćinstva odano je priznanje cijeloj našoj ustanovi, posebice Centru za tjelovježbu i studentski šport i našim studentima. Sport je važna aktivnosti i fenomen koji bi trebao u što većoj mjeri zahvaćati studente, slijedeći antički moto Mens sana in corpore sano. Sportske aktivnosti upotpunjuju redovite nastavne i znanstvene aktivnosti naših studenata i djelatnika, koji se kroz njih se uključuju u različite modele internacionalizacije. Na taj način mogu trenirati ne samo svoje tijelo i sposobnosti, nego i nošenje s pobjedama i porazima. U košarci je važan i timski rad, što je važno i kada se ostvaruju različite znanstvene aktivnosti. Natjecanje vidimo kao dodatan iskorak u internacionalizaciji i uključivanju studenata u aktivnosti kojima će biti punopravni članovi europske akademske zajednice, istaknuo je rektor Faričić.

Gradonačelnik Dukić rekao je kako ga veseli čvrsta suradnja grada i sveučilišta, kao i da je jedna posebna ljubav prema košarci u ovom gradu zahvatila studente.

- Vjerujem da će se u našem Hramu košarke igrati vrhunska košarka, rekao je gradonačelnik.

Odluka o domaćinstvu donesena je na nedavnoj sjednici Izvršnog odbora Europske sveučilišne sportske asocijacije EUSA-e u Aveiru u Portugalu.

- Zadar je ime koje nešto znači u europskoj košarci, grad je atraktivan, priprema kandidature je bila odlična i teško ju je bilo odbiti. Sveučilište radi odlične stvari oko organizacije sportskih događaja na nacionalnoj razini, gospodin Jerak je dopredsjednik Hrvatskog akademskog sportskog saveza i znamo da će sve što organizira biti jako dobro te će sudionici otići sretni. Imamo tri godine za pripremu, ovo je platforma koju treba iskoristiti na pravi način da se studenti upoznaju s gradom i sa sobom odnesu lijepe uspomene, rekao je predsjednik HASS Haris Pavletić, dodajući kako je Zadar dobio domaćinstvo iz prve, dok se Bologna morala triput kandidirati dok nije dobila organizaciju prvenstva 2025. godine.

Kao jedan od aduta u kandidaturi Jerak je izdvojio izvrsnu sportsku infrastrukturu, odnosno Dvoranu Krešimir Ćosić u kojoj će se igrati sve utakmice. Predviđeno je sudjelovanje 32 ekipe, po 16 muških i ženskih ali s obzirom na prve reakcije moglo bi ih biti i po dvadesetak. Svečano otvaranje bit će na Forumu.
