Britanski zdravstveni stručnjaci u subotu su rekli da su iznenađeni tvrdnjom premijera Borisa Johnsona da bi mutacija virusa koja je prvi put otkrivena u Britaniji mogla biti smrtonosnija u odnosu na izvorni virus.

Još uvijek nije u potpunosti sigurno da je nova varijanta koronavirusa povezana s višom stopom smrtnosti u odnosu na izvornu, rekla je BBC-ju Yvonne Doyle, direktorica izvršne agencije Odjela za zdravstvo i socijalnu skrb Velike Britanije koja djeluje pod nazivom Narodno zdravlje Engleske.

"Postoje neki dokazi, no oni su preuranjeni. Riječ je o malom broju slučajeva i prerano je govoriti o tomu kako će se stvari razvijati", rekla je Doyle, aludirajući na aktualne znanstvene studije.

Član britanskoga stručnog panela SAGE Mike Tildesley složio se s njom i smatra da je prerano sa sigurnošću govoriti o povećanoj smrtnosti od nove varijante koronavirusa. Za BBC je kazao da je "iznenađen" Johnsonovom izjavom.
"Želio bih pričekati još tjedan ili dva, a za to vrijeme ćemo pratiti razvoj događaja, prije nego što doneseno čvrste zaključke", istaknuo je Tildesley.

Broj smrtnih slučajeva blago se povećao - 10 na 13 pacijenata na njih 1000, kazao je Tildesley, upozorivši da se podatak temelji "na relativno malome broju podataka".

Johnson je novinarima u petak navečer rekao da postoje dokazi po kojima je britanska varijanta virusa, poznata i pod nazivom B117, smrtonosnija od one koja je do sada prevladavala.

Znanstvenici se slažu da je ovaj soj zarazniji, no dosad visoki britanski dužnosnici nisu javno upozorili da bi on mogao biti i smrtonosniji.

Britanski zdravstveni stručnjaci u subotu su rekli da su iznenađeni tvrdnjom premijera Borisa Johnsona da bi mutacija virusa koja je prvi put otkrivena u Britaniji mogla biti smrtonosnija u odnosu na izvorni virus.

Još uvijek nije u potpunosti sigurno da je nova varijanta koronavirusa povezana s višom stopom smrtnosti u odnosu na izvornu, rekla je BBC-ju Yvonne Doyle, direktorica izvršne agencije Odjela za zdravstvo i socijalnu skrb Velike Britanije koja djeluje pod nazivom Narodno zdravlje Engleske.

"Postoje neki dokazi, no oni su preuranjeni. Riječ je o malom broju slučajeva i prerano je govoriti o tomu kako će se stvari razvijati", rekla je Doyle, aludirajući na aktualne znanstvene studije.

Član britanskoga stručnog panela SAGE Mike Tildesley složio se s njom i smatra da je prerano sa sigurnošću govoriti o povećanoj smrtnosti od nove varijante koronavirusa. Za BBC je kazao da je "iznenađen" Johnsonovom izjavom.
"Želio bih pričekati još tjedan ili dva, a za to vrijeme ćemo pratiti razvoj događaja, prije nego što doneseno čvrste zaključke", istaknuo je Tildesley.

Broj smrtnih slučajeva blago se povećao - 10 na 13 pacijenata na njih 1000, kazao je Tildesley, upozorivši da se podatak temelji "na relativno malome broju podataka".

Johnson je novinarima u petak navečer rekao da postoje dokazi po kojima je britanska varijanta virusa, poznata i pod nazivom B117, smrtonosnija od one koja je do sada prevladavala.

Znanstvenici se slažu da je ovaj soj zarazniji, no dosad visoki britanski dužnosnici nisu javno upozorili da bi on mogao biti i smrtonosniji.

Britanski zdravstveni stručnjaci u subotu su rekli da su iznenađeni tvrdnjom premijera Borisa Johnsona da bi mutacija virusa koja je prvi put otkrivena u Britaniji mogla biti smrtonosnija u odnosu na izvorni virus.

Još uvijek nije u potpunosti sigurno da je nova varijanta koronavirusa povezana s višom stopom smrtnosti u odnosu na izvornu, rekla je BBC-ju Yvonne Doyle, direktorica izvršne agencije Odjela za zdravstvo i socijalnu skrb Velike Britanije koja djeluje pod nazivom Narodno zdravlje Engleske.

"Postoje neki dokazi, no oni su preuranjeni. Riječ je o malom broju slučajeva i prerano je govoriti o tomu kako će se stvari razvijati", rekla je Doyle, aludirajući na aktualne znanstvene studije.

Član britanskoga stručnog panela SAGE Mike Tildesley složio se s njom i smatra da je prerano sa sigurnošću govoriti o povećanoj smrtnosti od nove varijante koronavirusa. Za BBC je kazao da je "iznenađen" Johnsonovom izjavom.
"Želio bih pričekati još tjedan ili dva, a za to vrijeme ćemo pratiti razvoj događaja, prije nego što doneseno čvrste zaključke", istaknuo je Tildesley.

Broj smrtnih slučajeva blago se povećao - 10 na 13 pacijenata na njih 1000, kazao je Tildesley, upozorivši da se podatak temelji "na relativno malome broju podataka".

Johnson je novinarima u petak navečer rekao da postoje dokazi po kojima je britanska varijanta virusa, poznata i pod nazivom B117, smrtonosnija od one koja je do sada prevladavala.

Znanstvenici se slažu da je ovaj soj zarazniji, no dosad visoki britanski dužnosnici nisu javno upozorili da bi on mogao biti i smrtonosniji.
