Trend rasta prodaje gramofonskih ploča u Velikoj Britaniji nastavljen je i u 2016. i dosegnuo je najveću razinu u posljednjih 25 godina, izvijestila je Britanska fonografska industrija (BPI). 
Tijekom prošle godine glazbeni su fanovi kupili više od 3,2 milijuna vinilnih ploča, što je najviše od 1991., a ujedno povećanje od 53 posto u odnosu na 2015! Najveća je bila potražnja za pločama rock-ikone Davida Bowieja, čijih je pet albuma, nakon njegove smrti u siječnju prošle godine, uvršteno na popis Top 30 vinilnih izdanja. Njegov zadnji album "Blackstar", koji je u prodaju pušten samo dva dana prije njegove smrti, najprodavanije je vinilno izdanje 2016. godine. 
BFI iznosi podatak po kojemu je ovo deveta godina zaredom u kojoj se bilježi povećanje kupnje gramofonskih ploča, te podsjeća da je još 2007. zabilježena prodaja od samo 200 tisuća, te se činilo da glazbena publika za njih nema interesa. 
Tijekom 2016. svaki od najmanje 30 albuma prodan je u više od 10 tisuća primjeraka, u odnosu na 10 albuma koji su toliku nakladu dosegnuli u 2015.
- Vjerujemo da ovi podaci govore o dolasku obećavajućeg novog razdoblja za glazbu te da će u novome starom trendu uživati svi - fanovi, glazbenici, a i glazbeni ekosustav", kazao je Geoff Taylor, izvršni direktor BPI-ja i Brit Awardsa.

Trend rasta prodaje gramofonskih ploča u Velikoj Britaniji nastavljen je i u 2016. i dosegnuo je najveću razinu u posljednjih 25 godina, izvijestila je Britanska fonografska industrija (BPI). 
Tijekom prošle godine glazbeni su fanovi kupili više od 3,2 milijuna vinilnih ploča, što je najviše od 1991., a ujedno povećanje od 53 posto u odnosu na 2015! Najveća je bila potražnja za pločama rock-ikone Davida Bowieja, čijih je pet albuma, nakon njegove smrti u siječnju prošle godine, uvršteno na popis Top 30 vinilnih izdanja. Njegov zadnji album "Blackstar", koji je u prodaju pušten samo dva dana prije njegove smrti, najprodavanije je vinilno izdanje 2016. godine. 
BFI iznosi podatak po kojemu je ovo deveta godina zaredom u kojoj se bilježi povećanje kupnje gramofonskih ploča, te podsjeća da je još 2007. zabilježena prodaja od samo 200 tisuća, te se činilo da glazbena publika za njih nema interesa. 
Tijekom 2016. svaki od najmanje 30 albuma prodan je u više od 10 tisuća primjeraka, u odnosu na 10 albuma koji su toliku nakladu dosegnuli u 2015.
- Vjerujemo da ovi podaci govore o dolasku obećavajućeg novog razdoblja za glazbu te da će u novome starom trendu uživati svi - fanovi, glazbenici, a i glazbeni ekosustav", kazao je Geoff Taylor, izvršni direktor BPI-ja i Brit Awardsa.
