Naftna mrlja koja se izlila iz sirijske rafinerije i prijetila da zagadi sjevernu obalu Cipra počela se udaljavati zahvaljujući promjeni smjera vjetra, priiopćile su u srijedu ciparsko-turske vlasti.

Prema riječima dužnosnika samoproglašene Turske Republike Sjevernog Cipra, naftna mrlja koja se u srijedu ujutro nalazila na 28 kilometara od obale sada se kreće prema sjeveru i udaljava se od otoka.

"Golema masa nafte kreće se prema sjeveru. Postavili smo barijere kako bi spriječili da i najmanje količine nafte dopru do naše obale", rekao je podtajnik u ministarstvu turizma Serhan Aktunc.

Aktunc je istaknuo da im "meteorološke prilike idu na ruku", ali je upozorio da mrlja koja se nataložila na dnu prijeti morskom ekosustavu.

U vode turskog dijela Cipra bi u petak trebala stići dva turska broda za skupljanje nafte s površine mora.

Sirijski dužnosnici su prošli tjedan kazali da je 15.000 tona goriva 23. kolovoza procurilo iz skladišta termoelektrane u priobalnom gradu Baniyas, oko 160 kilometara udaljenog od Cipra.

Analiza satelitskih snimaka koju je napravio Orbital EOS pokazuje da je izlijevanje nafte bilo veće nego što se prvobitno mislilo te da se proteže na područje približne veličine grada New Yorka.

Naftna mrlja koja se izlila iz sirijske rafinerije i prijetila da zagadi sjevernu obalu Cipra počela se udaljavati zahvaljujući promjeni smjera vjetra, priiopćile su u srijedu ciparsko-turske vlasti.

Prema riječima dužnosnika samoproglašene Turske Republike Sjevernog Cipra, naftna mrlja koja se u srijedu ujutro nalazila na 28 kilometara od obale sada se kreće prema sjeveru i udaljava se od otoka.

"Golema masa nafte kreće se prema sjeveru. Postavili smo barijere kako bi spriječili da i najmanje količine nafte dopru do naše obale", rekao je podtajnik u ministarstvu turizma Serhan Aktunc.

Aktunc je istaknuo da im "meteorološke prilike idu na ruku", ali je upozorio da mrlja koja se nataložila na dnu prijeti morskom ekosustavu.

U vode turskog dijela Cipra bi u petak trebala stići dva turska broda za skupljanje nafte s površine mora.

Sirijski dužnosnici su prošli tjedan kazali da je 15.000 tona goriva 23. kolovoza procurilo iz skladišta termoelektrane u priobalnom gradu Baniyas, oko 160 kilometara udaljenog od Cipra.

Analiza satelitskih snimaka koju je napravio Orbital EOS pokazuje da je izlijevanje nafte bilo veće nego što se prvobitno mislilo te da se proteže na područje približne veličine grada New Yorka.

Naftna mrlja koja se izlila iz sirijske rafinerije i prijetila da zagadi sjevernu obalu Cipra počela se udaljavati zahvaljujući promjeni smjera vjetra, priiopćile su u srijedu ciparsko-turske vlasti.

Prema riječima dužnosnika samoproglašene Turske Republike Sjevernog Cipra, naftna mrlja koja se u srijedu ujutro nalazila na 28 kilometara od obale sada se kreće prema sjeveru i udaljava se od otoka.

"Golema masa nafte kreće se prema sjeveru. Postavili smo barijere kako bi spriječili da i najmanje količine nafte dopru do naše obale", rekao je podtajnik u ministarstvu turizma Serhan Aktunc.

Aktunc je istaknuo da im "meteorološke prilike idu na ruku", ali je upozorio da mrlja koja se nataložila na dnu prijeti morskom ekosustavu.

U vode turskog dijela Cipra bi u petak trebala stići dva turska broda za skupljanje nafte s površine mora.

Sirijski dužnosnici su prošli tjedan kazali da je 15.000 tona goriva 23. kolovoza procurilo iz skladišta termoelektrane u priobalnom gradu Baniyas, oko 160 kilometara udaljenog od Cipra.

Analiza satelitskih snimaka koju je napravio Orbital EOS pokazuje da je izlijevanje nafte bilo veće nego što se prvobitno mislilo te da se proteže na područje približne veličine grada New Yorka.
